Dr. Ahmed Mansour

Dr. Ahmad Mansour, the last in a line of nine traditional herbal doctors in South Sinai, resides in his orchard nestled in the high mountains of Wadi Itlah. His remedies, drawn from the plants he carefully cultivates, are renowned across Egypt. Every Friday, patients make their way to his village clinic, seeking his expertise.

Mansour's deep knowledge of herbal medicine was passed down through generations and learned from the wise Bedouin women of the region. His reputation has spread far and wide, attracting people from all over the country.

I have been in contact with him for about six years, hoping to learn the ancient wisdom of the desert. Two years ago, he agreed to share his knowledge, recognizing the importance of preserving this valuable heritage. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of studying under him, even bringing a group of plant enthusiasts to learn directly from him in his orchard.
